Servicing the Greater Augusta, Georgia Area
CORE AERATION
Core Aeration is the process of removing plugs from the turf to allow for better water and nutrient uptake in the lawn. This step should be performed every season to prevent soil compaction and prevent thatch from choking out your lawn.

TOP DRESSING
Top Dressing is the process of applying a thin layer of nutrient rich material like compost or topsoil to the lawn. This is especially effective after the lawn is core aerated allowing these mixes to fill these holes and provide improved drainage. Several top dressing applications can improve soil structure, reduce watering requirements, and improve the resiliency of the lawn

LAWN LEVELING
Over time, turf can develop ruts from settling subsoil or high traffic conditions. In this service, a layer of sand or combination of organic material and sand is applied to the surface of the lawn to build up these low spots. Not only does this improve the appearance of your lawn, but it also prevents uneven coloration in your lawn for a more consistent color across the entire turf.

FAQ
Who is Turf Corps and what do they offer?
Turf Corps is a lawncare company focused on services beyond routine mowing and fertilization treatments in your lawn. Turf Corps specializes in core aeration, top dressing, and lawn leveling services. Simple fertilization services are not going to give you that lush landscape that you've been missing.
What are the benefits of top dressing?
Besides core aeration, the only way to speed up the process of improving soil drainage and soil health is to apply a layer of nutrient rich organic matter on your lawn. Adding organic matter to your soil speeds up the transformation of thick hardpan clay into a more loose soil structure that can drain better, hold on to moisture better, and retain nutrients like fertilizer which will save you money in the long run.
Why should you core aerate?
You may have noticed parts of your yard that do not do as well as others. This is almost always attributed to poor drainage and/or soil compaction. Most of Georgia's natural soils are clay based and inherently do not drain well and are easily compacted. Core aeration allows for better drainage and nutrient infiltration into your soil.
What are the benefits of lawn leveling?
If you want to correct a bumpy lawn, the most practical method is to apply a thin layer of sand. Typically 3 to 10 tons of sand is spread out across a residential property to achieve a smooth finish. Transporting and spreading this amount of material is not typically feasible for homeowners. Turf Corps has the right equipment to tackle a job this size.
When and how often should I core aerate?
Core aeration should be performed at least once per season during the growing season for grass (typically March through September)
